Every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn
Inspired by this belief, our mission is to provide volunteer tutoring and mentoring to Ravenswood students.
Nearly 200 All Students Matter volunteers work with talented teachers to support the success of students in the Ravenswood City School District serving communities in East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park. Ravenswood schools are located in the heart of Silicon Valley and surrounded by some of the finest public schools in the United States. However, the latest statistics tell a different story about these communities:

ASM supports students facing these challenges. Each dedicated volunteer is a consistent, caring presence in the lives of these children, working weekly with the same teacher and students throughout the school year. Ravenswood teachers partner with our volunteers to help improve academic performance and social-emotional well being of the students.

New this fall - tutoring goes online
New for 2020-21, ASM will be offering its program fully online. In support of students who will be distance learning and gradually returning to campus, ASM's volunteers will be partnering with classroom teachers to work with students online. Also new this year, ASM is expanding beyond TK-5th grade and is adding support for middle school students in 6th-8th grades.
ASM has designed three new, online programs together with the Ravenswood School District which incorporates best practices from the pilot program we ran this spring and summer. Our tutors will continue to focus on improving literacy skills and providing the social-emotional support which helps boost student self-confidence.
