In-Classroom Support
Each teacher utilizes three to four volunteers at specified times each week, all school year, to assist students, one-on-one or in a small group, with reading, writing or math. No prior experience is needed as we will train you.
Most volunteers support students in literacy through a technique called Guided Reading, after attending an ASM training session. Math support is also an option, determined by teacher request. Volunteers supporting math will receive training in Common Core techniques in order to best support classroom curriculum. All Students Matter does not introduce curriculum, rather we support existing district curriculum and follow teacher direction. Interested in volunteering? Sign up and volunteer. We look forward to supporting you in the classroom.

Fenella LeightonWhy does Fenella Leighton give her time to support students at Costaño School?
“I’ve supported my own children throughout their school life. When my last child graduated from high school I wanted to stay involved in local schools and give back to the community. Volunteering with All Students Matter is a wonderfully uplifting experience.” |
